Artist Statement: Painting

My art is a reflection of my deep integration of yoga, meditation, and intuitive painting practices, aligning with source energy to create transformative visual experiences. This diptych draws upon the symbolism of yogic chakra diagrams, Tibetan Mandala Thangka, and sacred geometries such as the Sri Yantra and Flower of Life. These sacred forms serve as conduits for expressing the subtle energies that flow within and around us.

Over 2016-17 I deepened my meditation practice—grounding into the earth, becoming a column of light and connecting the the sun for higher-self or soul connection, bringing energy from above and below into the heart chakra. Through this process, I translated the sensations of energy pulsing and flowing through my body into paint, color, and mark. The mandalas are universal, avoiding physical body references to emphasize the energetic flow and are powerful energetic activations. I invite viewers to stand to center and ground themselves, align their hearts with the heart chakra at the center of the work, and breathe deeply. In this state of presence, my art becomes a mirror of the connection between earth, body, and higher source vibrations.

Artist Statement: Video:

I have VJed (live video mixing) since 2011 but I have been around Vjs since 2000. My video incorporates my painting with an intention to create “moving painting” layering footage of finished paintings, now it will involve filming while painting using stop-motion and time-lapse,

My Masters of Fine Arts in Video involved investigating socially responsible art with an environmental edge, incorporating video installation in site-specific contexts. Projects were intervention or event based for projecting at street parties, projection nights & installations. I presented my video at a Green Party Conference with an activist group to raise awareness to build community rather than roads, in this case an inner city bypass

I later collaborated in video installation project for the Fringe called “VanTV: Transforming Video on Wheels” involving projection in public spaces.
